Right now I'm reading up on Quantum Theory and American Foreign Policy at the same time (pretty fuckin clever, no?)...an accident since I picked up a book called The Search for Schrodinger's Cat at the book exchange in the launderette on Cambridge Heath Road the other day. It makes for an interesting combination, not that the concerns that keep me awake are anything new, but the questions and implications that Chomsky awakens in me are slightly different. For the first time, I'm amazed to realise, I'm wondering what ends US policy has in store for humanity as a whole. One wonders if they are aware of their trajectory themselves, as we often forget our intentions when in the grips of obsession, but they must wonder also in order to justify the vast scale, sureity and intensity of their atrocities against succesfully independent nations simply because they awaken from the drunkenness of inexorable wealth.

Consider this...it's logically impossible to know the location and trajectory of an electron at the same time..you have to trust me on this, it is. The equation determines nothing in that two of its main components are indeterminite values, but the more precisely you know the location of an electron the less precisely you know its trajectory, and the inverse is similarly true. Much as observing very small particles alters their behaviour, a similar behaviour has arisen in the hegemonious states (read State) since the work of Bohr and his contemporaries on quantum theory in Copenhagen in the first half of the twentieth century. Orwell's doublethink principle, illogical logicality, has become the norm and a regular incumbence to anyone interested in political history in the last half century, no less an incumbence to those interested in educating the people around them as to the truth.

To go off on an even more diverse rant, the Matrix principle (as in the comic-book movie from the nineties) is really pissing me off now. That the story rang true to us all in western society and that so many of those who appreciate the objective fantasy are asleep in a state of indifference to the machine they are plugged into. I'm beginning to come to an understanding of my own self-destruction as cultivating an understanding of your enemy indeed cultivates your enemy within oneself, and I am haunted by my occasional complacency (read happiness, forgive my pathos here, this is true) and tendency to accept the trajectory of human development toward capitalist genocide. In fact it's only natural to seek the truth outside of the pentagon and simultaneously seek one's own destruction, without at least having a taste of what their fucking point is.

I'm reminded here again on the words of Dr Eamonn Healey, who gave a tremendously insightful monologue at the beginning of Richard Linklater's film Waking Life... a transcript can be easily found with a quick google search, but Healey gives a brilliantly optimistic view on human evolutionary development by introducing the concept of a kind of intellectual singularity...much like the technological singularity, whereby as human achievements have been getting greater and greater in ever decreasing spaces of time, indeed a telescoping effect, then technological achievements will concievably one day be as simple as concieving them... an intellectual singularity, which is to me more inevitable than a technological one, will eliminate such characteristics as predation, war, morality as unneccesary and vulgar manifestations of an outdated evolutionary paradigm. The new successors will no longer dominate their predeccessors but each will exist in a mutually benevolent relationship, and the characteristics of loyalty, honesty and mutuality will (counter-intuitively, Healey so cutely adds) be the manifestations of the arrival of the neo-hominid. Great, I thought, and this saves my sanity in so many ways: giving meaning to my childish clinging to Anarchism as I came to a new understanding of it as a glimpse of the furthermost point of human evolution on our horizon, a direction to push towards (like I've been saying since I was a fucking teenager), rather than a societal model to force the world into fitting right now.

It's the inspiration to start on a new album as well as get up in the morning, and I'm excited as to where this new optimism might take me, but I'm still majorly fucked up about the Washington project. Is theirs the same as mine? Is genocide as inevitable as beautiful horizons for human intellect, the intellectual, or dare I say, love singularity? Fuck! I hope not. I'm beginning to enter the realm of spiritual taboo in my acceleration towards the truth, like so many other ego-centric white guys before me, and simlarly I see my intentions as the right ones. And sickening as this is, it's even more so in that I can't for the life of percieve that I'll ever get someone I love to understand this. Fucking email me if you do. felix at sameindeath dot com

Carrying on from the above which I wrote two nights ago...

Questions / reservations I'd have about the appearance of the neo-hominid is their attitude toward its less advanced predeccessor. The stunting of population growth seems to be the major issue for the US project, especially where economic conditions, instigated by themselves or otherwise, don't allow for advanced branches of education. The idea that the executives of the project will stand back and allow the advanced sympathetic abilities of the human fruits of their labours to dictate the future of anthropolitical policy seems optimistic in the extreme - and even if the neo-human were to inherit control of the Earth's political future, how will they relate to their predatory predecessors, and how will they view them?

When I ask myself the question "Why The Fuck Are They Doing This?" when truthfully I know how close to the answer I am, I stand still, stare, and my ambition dies. This is truly scary because it feels as if my next move is a desperate backtrack on my ethics to make as much money as possible and join the ranks of the self-proclaimed "future bearers", or die a disaffected punk's poetic death. I am more enthused by the possibility of cultivating the neo-hominid outside of the US glasshouse, or at least one that the US model finds an acceptable animal to share the future with. The US neo-hominid will be born out of predation and murder, and we will maybe stand with open arms to say "We've been expecting you, but not so soon, and certainly not by those means"...

The US project I think has not learnt the same lessons we all did from the various communist revolutions that you cannot make a young world fit an advanced model except by paranoid and murderous force that negates the values of the original movement. I have sometimes expected a terrible catastrophe to befall everyone outside of the US Project, a great cull, especially where the President vocally encourages inefficient energy consumption, like we're heading for a big crunch that will kill those of us who are superfluous to their intientions anyway. But in fact it is a gradual process, and the cull, nay pruning of political dissent by extreme violence is happening all the time (I urge you to read any of Chomsky's expertly researched books on US foreign policy, including Hegemony Or Survival). The irony is that I am expecting (or maybe just hoping) that their own private evolutionary revolution will cause the same problems in reverse.

Fuck, I'm tired. One day I may excorcise this unrest properly, or maybe I'll educate myself and articulate myself properly so as to make a proper article of it instead if this childish fudging every time I need to empty my head and get some proper sleep. I was unable to bring my guitar to Brasil, which is fucking unfortunate.

While 3500 Police did storm the city and kick the fuck out of everyone, the APPO still have control of Radio Universidad and are still broadcasting this stream. I'm sure you didn't miss it, but the past five years, by now well-cited as being as close to a prologue to an Orwellian world power model as is imaginable (where to imagine a worse modern scenario than the status quo has been merely to imagine its following scenario prematurely), fucked me up if they didn't you.

I don't know if you can hear voices in the wind the same as I hear them, but to me they're constantly saying "Hurry Up!" and "Get Off The Ship!". I think I know what the ship is and I'm always stood as close as I can to the edge/lifeboats but I don't know what I'm supposed to hurry up about, except maybe sinking the ship, and I'm fucked if I know how to do it. OK so I'm not really much of an activist (more of a quack academic) in that I do all this worrying by myself, but if that's true then it's because I feel about as powerless in the company of 2 million of my social contemporaries as I do alone. Even though we generally unite under a negative message for purposes of solidarity ("Stop The War"), the mainstream of political dissent dare not even speak of anything so (forgive me) "radical" as instigating the demise of US hegemony. "Dismantle the USA!". Why the fuck not?

I need to drop in a note of disambiguation here. I'm ready now, late in my twenties, to finally admit that Anarchism, as laudable a concept as it has been for centuries, has been condemned to the dialogue of western adolescents for a reason, and insist that our struggle against the US is not one against state, and that it's vital to differentiate. The first time I remember having the notion of liberalism and anarchism cutting the same path was when I came across a concept known as "Anarcho-capitalism" (almost identical to Blair's New Labour, an unapologetic advocation of free-market liberalism), and it was the beginning of the end for me drawing A signs on things. Though I still argue that as a vision the concept of Anarchism is a good model of the furthest visible horizon of human evolution (i.e. for human nature to truly achieve benignity), I have also until now been a contemporary Anarchist, traditionally disagreeing with fellow Anarchists on all principles except that there should be no governance, simply freedom of the individual. Well, no time has ever been more appropriate than now to wave our black flags and celebrate our victory on this. God Bless the United Hegemonic Vision of America...

The contrast between the American societal model and the US strategem for world power must be very confusing from the inside, we know this. But there's even an epiphany awaiting all those American anarchists too (God knows I've met many, and liked them all), that must be twice as hard to reconcile as it was for me. That deregulation, under-regulation, the limitation or elimination of governance, on this global stage, ties the hands of the people, not the oppressor. That our domestic frustration over unjust and bigoted laws, the system of capital, warmongering and lies, is so much dinner party chatter compared to your family being killed by munitions, disease or starvation simply in order to protect our markets (NOT our governments). Governments historically have been, and to an infuriating extent still are, servants of capital over servants of people. Hence injustice. But, if (speculating wildly) this were to shift and the balance to tip significantly, would I accept another's authority over me? If they show me that they have true, exercisable authority over the powerful, greedy and murderous also, yes, what the fuck should I fear more? This is not a new argument by any means, but this is certainly a new world. If the UN were to wake tomorrow with the sudden compliance of the US, the UN would be the first authority to enjoy my willing compliance.

This is important because as long as power remains in the hands of the greedy and murderous and we argue for the demise of the state, then we simply argue for a brutal police state by some other name. The enemy is changing - as capitalism, this embarassing, fat, rotten and stinking stage of human societal development passes and demises, we shall find it to be the cultural development of people at large that effects the transition to the next stage - but as we instigate this change we should not only be exercising our immediate will, as in revolutions of the past, merely appending to our ethics and collective evolutionary memory, but also legislating for and regulating all of those who wish to trade globally or administrate with guns, of whom there are a great many. That means governace, folks. The alternative is about as attractive a proposition as having your family murdered by the armed sub-contractors of an oil company. Oh, OK, maybe it wouldn't be your family...

Anyway, merely dropping notes of disdain from my ivory tower in response to the world's self-repressive dementia is pissing me off too. We are rapidly approaching a time when all those with cultural influence are to begin making the same noises, and I'm eager for it to be as unequivocal as it is necessary. Over the next ten years I want widespread sentiment in the mainstream simply in direct opposition to USA's existence as a world power, and it should start here and with us.

The Frog and the Salamander
I got to work well early this morning, my sleeping pattern having been put out by the shenanigans of the weekend, and I found myself so dangerously close to passing-out-and-hitting-my-head-on-the-desk earlier that I decided to have a little lie down on the floor. There's only one other colleague in the office today, and she was very late (though she apparently turned up an hour before I woke up, didn't twig that as the shutter was up someone must be in, and I scared the living shit out of her half an hour ago by walking into her office on the way to the kitchen for some cornflakes) so I managed to kip on 'til 12:30...anyway, I digress.

I dreamt vividly of a frog and a salamander, either on the couch or the floor of the living room at home, both very colourful with big curvy patches of bright colour on their skin, the frog quite flat in shape and placid and the salamander very mellifluous in movement with a big soft mouth. The salamander climbs onto the frog and starts kissing (I guess) the back of the frog's neck. The salamander's kissing is almost like a deep, kneading massage because the frog's skin is so soft, they both have their eyes shut, and I take a minute to twig that this is an act of passion rather than some mutual care thing. I'm just realising that the salamander is in fact shagging the frog, who seems quite content about it, thinking that's quite sweet, when in wonders another salamander, brightly coloured but mostly shades of blue and green, who starts watching them both and much to my surprise starts touching itself (about as dextrously as a salamander can, lacking as it is in opposable thumbs). Now intimate as the other two clearly are they still don't seem to mind, and I'm figuring maybe things are different when you're a passionate amphibian, when in walks the cat, who starts eying them all up greedily as if she's about to pounce on them and eat them. So I go "No, Dobie, fuck off" and pick her up and take her out of the room, closing the door behind me to leave them to it.

What that was about I've no idea, but I'd better do some work now :-)

...and dreams don't manifest unless they are dreamt, so let's hope US domination of global power has peaked, eh? First though I'm going to knock out a lay inquiry into whether it already has.

The US is by far the single largest consumer of energy in the world, and 80% of US energy consumption relies on fossil fuels according to their own Department Of Energy report in 2000, petroleum making up by far the largest portion. Apart from the ever increasingly apparent environmental reasons why this isn't sustainable there's also the fact that global oil production is about to begin declining. This is heavy shit. If you divide the remaining global oil reserves by current consumption you find that there's theoretically enough for the next forty years, but the production rate from oil fields decreases as resources deplete. We're not about to run out of oil but production is going to decline as we begin the approach toward exhaustion. As we're about half way if not further through mineable supply right now, Peak Oil, the point at which it is no longer possible to increase oil production, is on us.

Because of our dependence on energy, increasing energy production is equally as vital for the sustenance of the global economy as the principle of growth. Peak Oil means investment collapse (e.g. pensions...) and recession, bigger and nastier than the one during the last oil crisis in 1975. It's by no means purely a US issue, but as they're the biggest consumer by an enormous margin aren't they likely to feel it most, especially on top of their ever-impending fiscal bankruptcy?

Nearly done...I'v e had my head up my arse (my PC), hallucinating PHP for a few weeks now but I fink I'm nearly finished. Few updates to do, have to write the noose section etc., and invite people, and tell people it's here, and Google, and all that. Then I'm going to be a musician again.
